Summerholiday by the SognefjordThe summerhouse “Bygningen” lies by the Sognefjord in Aurland in Sogn.View over the fjord to Flåm, Underdal and the World Herritage Site Nærøyfjorden. “Bygningen” ( “the Building” in English) consist of several small cabins built together in a charming summerresidens with a cosy atmosphere. The main house has a well equiped kitchen, a nice livingroom with a fjord view, two bedrooms and bathroom with shower. There is also a washingmaschine.
The oldest house – Gamlestova built in 1934 has two bedrooms . It has a bathroom with shower. Added to the building there is small cabin with one bedroom with two beds : There is also an ekstra bed which can be set up wherever you find it suitable.
The building is surrounded by a large porch with furniture and barbeque facilities. Here you have the perfect setting with fjord view, possibilities for boattrips on the fjord, or you can visit the many attractions in Aurland and Flåm: the Flåm Railwayline, the famous hike in the Aurland Valley, the Nærøyfjord World Herritage area, the Snow Road over the mountains between Aurland and Lærdal or you can hike in the mountains around Skjerdal.
Skjerdal is a typical farm in the west of Norway. We have goats and sheep, and farm our land organically. We also have two horses used for riding and work on the farm. In the steep mountainside towards the fjord we have an orchard with apples and morello-cherries.
